I heard it….in the 1955 film entitled, ‘The Tender Trap.’
‘If you have a plan, and believe in your plan, you’ll get what you want.’
If Debbie said it, I believe it….even though it was an insipid 1950s era film, with all those cigarettes and cocktails and flawed belief systems, with Frank Sinatra, who I only appreciate as a crooner.
Nevertheless….I’m with Debbie, (an incomparable talent really, more than a triple threat amidst that impossibly adorable smile and girlish glow).
Come to think of it….I recall others in my life issuing a similar ‘make a plan and work your plan’ dictum. Oh pulllleeze KEEP reminding me, should I momentarily contract amnesia.
And today, as more curious bits of shrapnel fall here and there, remnants from a year of wear and tear, I am reminded that some things often need fall apart to be built anew….and better. That surely might include one’s life.
I’m all for better.
So might I add, ‘If you have a plan, and believe in and WORK your plan, you’ll get what you want, OR BETTER’.
